URGO
Healthcare Products Co., Ltd.
Mission:
To supply quality medical products to distribution partners
in Southeast Asia and beyond (Asia Pacific Region) as well
as other markets currently being serviced by the parent company
in France, thereby assuming the role of an export manufacturing
center of Laboratoires Urgo S.A.
Company Profile:
URGO Healthcare Products Co., Ltd. began operations in Thailand in 1991, with B. Grimm as an important business partner. The company is the representative office for Indochina distribution and operates a manufacturing facility in the Bangkradee District in the Pathumthani Province.
URGO focuses on developing new products and techniques for skin care and caring for wounds, in close cooperation with leading healthcare professionals, i.e. pharmacists, physicians, nurses and so forth. To achieve its objective of development, URGO has to expand its activities internationally, with Europe being a priority, through alliances, acquisitions and the strengthening of the distributor brand name. Based on the URGO brand name support, the company has mobilized its human and financial resources to conquer new markets. The OTC market today continues to be of essential importance in France and throughout the world due to such strong brand names in the markets for respiratory tract disorders and pain – Humex and Intralgis.
The company’s world headquarters are located in France, where most of the R&D and product development take place. As first aid and family medication specialists, Urgo is the French market leader in plasters and dressings with the Urgo trademark, and in treatment for colds with Humex, and they are enjoying high growth in wound-healing, in particular thanks to Urgotul.
Urgo has developed within the Fournier Group which, from 1941 to 2002 was headed by Jean Le Lous who had turned the modest drugstore founded by Eugène Fournier in 1880 into an international-scale pharmaceuticals group. Hervé Le Lous, Jean Le Lous’ son, is now the sole shareholder of Laboratoires Urgo, which gives Urgo a stable and independent shareholder base, guaranteeing sustainability and reactivity. Hervé Le Lous has already asserted his will to accelerate the development of URGO in the pharmacy sectors of first aid, family medication, and healthcare, and to continue the program of international expansion for wound-healing plasters.
Values
An entrepreneurial spirit, confidence in one's colleagues, respecting customers and dialogue with share-holders, these are URGO's key values which are the basis of profitable growth in a continuing economically viable and human setting.
