The Economical All-Rounder

The new 3WN6 circuit-breakers help build switchgear systems that are both economical and require less space.

They are available in 3- and 4-pole design in two sizes for rated currents from 630 A to 3200 A and rated voltages up to 690 V AC. The circuit-breakers are available with a short-circuit breaking capacity of up to 80 kA with 690 V. Solid-state overcurrent releases are available for all applications, e.g. for plant, motor and generator protection. LED displays indicate the tripping cause and the operating status. Query and test keys facilitate a quick diagnosis.

PROFIBUS DP open communication for worldwide use

A simple and effective method of enabling the flow of information between the 3WN6 and a PLC is achieved via a kNS/DP link. The independently developed PROFIBUS bus-system makes it possible to connect the breaker to many different types of PLCs. Complex hard wired systems can be replaced with a simple two wire bus control. Not only can the breaker be switched on and off via this system, but all breaker data can be transmitted. The monitoring of phase current values for example allows the system to be used for energy management applications, or the transmission of diagnostic data such as number of operations, enables maintenance periods to be accurately predicted.
